During winter, a lot people tend to change their entire bedroom decorations to keep themselves warm. They add in woolen bedding, electric blanket, modern decorative pillows, small heater and a lot more. Frankly speaking, it is not necessary to waste so much of money to make such big changes. For people who have king size bedding at home, you are suggested to make use of the existing bedding to provide you great warm and comfort. You are recommended to invest on ONE item only, i.e. the king size bedspreads.
Let me share with you some useful tips:
• There is a wide variety of king size bedspreads in the market. They come in different patterns, decorates and fabrics. The quality of the bedspreads depends much on the materials used. Some bedspreads are super light because they are quilted with cotton and polyester blends. You are suggested to visit some reliable specialty bedding shops to find out more. If you want to save time, you are encouraged to find out the products online. There are both online and offline retailers selling high quality bedspreads in different sizes.
• In general, we classify the bedspreads into 4 main types. The traditional ones are rectangular in shape with 4 curved corners. The second type is so called tailored box style. It comes with 4 flaps which you can tuck under the mattress. The spreads which come with rectangular corners are boxed drape spread type. The last type is the coverlet style spread which works best with a bed skirt.
• You are free to choose any type of the bedspread based on your own preferences. Besides decorate, you need to consider the quality of the bedspread carefully. The best way for you to measure the quality of the bedspread is through the thread count as well as its fill power. A high quality bedspread is able to keep you warm through cold days as well as cold nights. At the same time, choose the right fabric for yourself. You need to find out which fabric gives you the most comfort. You can choose to have cotton, silk, polyester, wool, etc. If your skin is sensitive to certain materials, you need to be extra careful in your selection.
• Is it easy to take care of the king size bedspreads? To be frank, these bedspreads are not suitable to be washed at home because they are too heavy and they may spoil your washing machine. You are advised to get the professional laundry services.
• Since the economy is bad nowadays, you may consider making your own bedspread if you want to save money. As long as you’ve basic sewing skills and you know how to measure accurately, making a new bedspread is not a hard task.
